About Me
My name is Victoria Blacik and I'm an instructional designer with experience in software and human resources training and a background in higher education. I've designed training or taught on a wide variety of topics including software configuration, software usage, human resources policies and procedures, and various historical topics.

I am passionate about the ability of well-designed training and instruction to impact customers, employees, and students positively. I believe strongly in a well-organized and iterative approach to design and I'm always looking for ways to improve my design process, training effectiveness, and the learner experience.

I'm originally from the Chicago area (Waukegan) and I have lived in New Orleans, Montana, and California before settling in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I attended college at Tulane University where I received my BA in history and I attended graduate school at the University of California, Irvine. I specialized in Modern Spanish History and did my PhD research on public health doctors in early 20th-century Spain. To complete this research, I spent year as Fulbright Fellow in Spain.

In my spare time, I enjoy distance running and spending time in nature with my family.
